Corrections Policy

We make mistakes, and when we do, we fix them openly.

How we correct

• Factual errors are corrected in the story as soon as they are confirmed.
• A correction note at the end of the story says what was wrong and when it was fixed.
• Significant updates that add new information are marked as updates, with the time they were made.
• We do not quietly remove stories. In rare legal or safety cases we may remove or anonymize content and will note that we did so.

How to report an error

Tell us through the Contact page: the story, what is wrong and, if possible, a source that shows the correct information. Our editors review every report.
