Editorial Standards
Last updated: October 2, 2026
Accuracy
We verify before we publish. Facts are checked against primary sources whenever possible, and every story names the sources it relies on. When we cannot confirm something, we say so.
Independence
Our journalism is not for sale. Advertisers, sponsors and owners do not influence what we cover or how. Sponsored content is labeled and is never produced by our newsroom.
Fairness
We give people and organizations we report on a fair chance to respond, and we reflect a range of credible views.
Sources
We prefer named sources. We use unnamed sources only when the information is important, cannot be obtained otherwise, and the source has direct knowledge; we explain why the source was not named.
News, analysis and opinion
Every story is labeled by type, so readers know whether they are reading news, analysis or opinion.
Images and video
We do not alter images or video in ways that mislead. AI-generated or reconstructed visuals are clearly labeled.
Use of AI
We use AI tools to help with research, transcription and editing. A human editor reviews every story before it is published and is responsible for it.
Corrections
We correct errors openly. See our Corrections Policy.
